Job description

Position Title: Dentist (1099)

Pay rate: $115/hr 1099

Shift hours: 8:30a-4:30p

Client: The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice

Address: 4900 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC, 29212

Duties:

1. Examine and Diagnose using x-rays including Panorex, Bitewing, Peri-apical films
2. Place composite fillings
3. Provide local anesthesia
4. Place sealants
5. Provide dental prophylaxis, exam, fluoride
6. Possible calculus debridement when necessary
7. Crowns-PFM or gold (we utilize a dental lab for fabrication of crowns)
8. Simple extractions (we have the equipment; however, all extractions may be referred out)
9. Create, review, and update dental policies/procedures
10. Serve as Dental Director
11. Serve on the SCDJJ medical committee

Note: Third molar extractions, root canals, and existing orthodontics are referred out.

We have a full-time dental assistant onsite who will assist in all procedures, and a fully equipped dental clinic with newly acquired equipment necessary to perform dental procedures.

Certification:

The certification is that they must be licensed to practice dentistry in SC and their license issued by The State Board of Dentistry.

Schedule:

The hours are negotiable; however, the preferred schedule would be 3 days a week, 8:30-4:30. We have flexibility on the days and some flexibility on the times.
