Job summary

Prairie Band Health Service in Fort Duchesne, Utah, an IHS facility, invites a Dentist to provide high-quality dental care. This full-time 4-month assignment runs Monday–Friday in a community-focused setting.

Responsibilities include cleanings, extractions, and preventive care, with care coordinated through an EMR system. Candidates must have a DDS/DMD, active license, BLS, and US citizenship, and be able to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a dentist after dental school.
• DDS or DMD degree from an Accredited Dental School Program.
• Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support).

Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings, tooth extractions, tooth preservation and other basic outpatient procedures.
• Navigate electronic medical records for prescribing, documentation and orders including referrals.
• Interview and examine patients, review medical history and provide necessary diagnostics and counseling.

Duties:

1. Perform dental cleanings, tooth extractions, tooth preservation and any other basic dental procedures commonly performed in an outpatient setting and commiserate with the dental providers training and State license.

2. Efficiently navigates via electronic medical record for a-prescribing, documentation, and orders including referrals in compliance with Meaningful Use and ICD-10 requirements.

3. Interviews and examinations with patients, reviews of past medical history, and requests and/or performs diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain all possible information related to each case. Prescribes medications as indicated. Instructs and counsels patients and family members as required and does so in a culturally sensitive manner.

Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum of (1) year of experience as a dentist after dental school. (1) year of fellowship can count as this experience.
• Minimum Education: DDS or DMD Degree from an Accredited Dental School Program,
• Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support)

Doctorate is required

Applicants must have an active, unrestricted, and free disciplinary action license as a

Dentist in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of

the United States

Must be a U.S. citizen living primarily within the United States.

Must be willing and able to complete and pass the federal security clearance process.
