Job summary

Prairie Band Health Services seeks a Dentist to deliver comprehensive dental care at the Uintah & Ouray Health Center (IHS facility) in Fort Duchesne, UT. The role includes performing cleanings, extractions, and routine dental procedures in an outpatient setting.

Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school; Doctorate required.
  • Minimum 1 year of post-dental school experience (fellowship counted).
  • Current BLS certification is required.
  • Active, unrestricted dental license in a U.S. state, DC, PR, or territory.
  • U.S. citizenship or equivalent status.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dental cleanings, extractions, preservation and related outpatient procedures.
  • Navigate electronic medical records for prescriptions, documentation and orders.
  • Interview and examine patients, review medical history and order necessary diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medications as indicated and provide patient and family counseling with cultural sensitivity.

Prairie Band Health Service is seeking a Dentist to provide exceptional healthcare services The Uintah & Ouray Health Center (Uintah-Ouray Service Unit) is an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility in Fort Duchesne, UT, serving the Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah & Ouray Reservation.

Duties
  1. Perform dental cleanings, tooth extractions, tooth preservation and any other basic dental procedures commonly performed in an outpatient setting and commiserate with the dental providers training and State license.
  2. Efficiently navigates via electronic medical record for a-prescribing, documentation, and orders including referrals in compliance with Meaningful Use and ICD-10 requirements.
  3. Interviews and examinations with patients, reviews of past medical history, and requests and/or performs diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain all possible information related to each case. Prescribes medications as indicated. Instructs and counsels patients and family members as required and does so in a culturally sensitive manner.

Requirements
  • Years of Experience: Minimum of (1) year of experience as a dentist after dental school. (1) year of fellowship can count as this experience.
  • Minimum Education: DDS or DMD Degree from an Accredited Dental School Program, Doctorate is required
  • Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Applicants must have an active, unrestricted, and free disciplinary action license as a Dentist in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States
  • Must be a U.S. citizen living primarily within the United States.
  • Must be willing and able to complete and pass the federal security clearance process.
