Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Pediatric Dentist for a full-time locum tenens position in Albuquerque. Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of pediatric dentistry experience.
  • Active, unrestricted dental license in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Pass a federal background check and obtain facility credentialing.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and ability to adapt to clinic protocols.
  • Prior IHS or tribal health experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive pediatric dental care including exams and procedures.
  • Educate patients on oral health and hygiene.

Description: We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Pediatric Dentist to join our team at the Albuquerque Indian Dental Clinic. This is a full-time locum tenens contract opportunity providing high-quality dental care to children within a family dental clinic setting serving the Native American community.

Position Highlights:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive pediatric dental care, including exams, preventive services, and restorative procedures
  • Educate patients and caregivers on oral health and hygiene
  • Maintain accurate dental records using Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Collaborate with dental assistants, hygienists, and clinical staff to ensure coordinated patient care
Qualifications:
  • DDS or DMD from an ADA-accredited dental school
  • Minimum of two years of pediatric dentistry experience (post-graduation or through fellowship)
  • Active, unrestricted dental license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a dentist after dental school (2 years of fellowship can count)
  • Pediatric dental experience required
  • DDS or DMD from an Accredited Dental School; Doctorate is required
  • Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Active, unrestricted license as a Dentist in a U.S. state, D.C., PR, or a U.S. territory
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to patient-centered care
  • Driver's license may be required
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule
  • U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.; must be willing to complete a federal background check
  • Willingness to comply with all state and federal regulations regarding medical practice
