Our client, which is a healthcare facility is seeking a qualified Dentist to provide comprehensive dental services to individuals receiving residential and community based care.
Position Overview
The Dentist will provide dental care under the supervision of the Medical Director and will be responsible for delivering safe, timely, and appropriate dental treatment to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Job Description
- Provide comprehensive dental services to individuals residing at the facility and certain identified individuals receiving community based services.
- Perform comprehensive, limited, and emergency dental examinations.
- Provide restorative dental procedures, simple extractions, crown preparations, denture services, and other appropriate dental treatments.
- Work alongside an Anesthesia provider when required for complete oral rehabilitation.
- Develop written treatment plans, including appropriate clinical justification for irreversible dental treatments.
- Promote and implement safe, effective, and evidence based dental practices to improve patients' oral health and hygiene.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all clinical encounters using electronic medical and dental health records.
- Demonstrate proficiency with computers and electronic health record systems.
- Utilize digital dentistry technologies and workflows as applicable.
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining appropriate clinical standards.
- Follow facility policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements to maintain compliance with healthcare accreditation and oversight standards.

Requirements
- Must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice Dentistry in the State of Texas.
- Must maintain a current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
- Must possess a National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Must successfully complete required background screening, fingerprinting, and drug testing.
- Must complete all required facility and state mandated training.
- Must comply with applicable immunization requirements.
- Must comply with the staffing agency's attendance and leave policies.
- Must comply with all applicable state regulations, facility policies, procedures, and professional standards.
License, Certification, and Registration Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Texas Dental License.
- Current and unrestricted DEA registration.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- All required licenses, registrations, and certifications must remain current throughout the period of service.
