Job summary

Marin Community Clinics in Marin County, CA, seeks a Dentist to provide preventative dental care and clinical services in a community health center setting. The role requires an ADA-accredited dental school graduate with a valid CA DDS/DMD license and active CA Dental License.

You will use EPIC, Dexis X-ray, and NextGen EHR; expect evening/weekend flexibility and benefits including health, HRA, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ADA-accredited dental school.
  • Possession of a valid DDS or DMD license to practice dentistry in the State of California.
  • Active California Dental License in good standing.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Active DEA registration.
  • One to two years of experience in general dentistry.
  • GPR or AEGD preferred.
  • Experience in community/public health dentistry desirable.
  • Pediatric dentistry experience preferred.
  • Experience with EHR systems a plus.

Overview

Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is today, a multi-clinic network with a wide array of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide vital health services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. The Clinics regularly receive national awards from the Health Resources and Services Administrations (HRSA). Our Mission is to promote health and wellness through excellent, compassionate care for all.

Dentist handles all aspects of general dentistry. Diagnoses and treats patients consistent with her/his training and expertise.

Salary Range:

The salary range stated below is based on a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE).

Responsibilities
  • Providing preventative dental care and clinical dental services in a communityhealth center setting.
  • Uses EPIC, digital Dexis X-ray and NextGen Electronic Health Records System.
  • Delivers high quality care to patients.
  • Manages and directs staff assignments and activities in accordance with Marin Community Clinics, Dental Compliance Policies and Procedures, Dental Manual, and applicable California Laws.
  • Provides teledentistry services and must feel comfortable delivering dental services, via remote access.
  • Flexibility is a must. Dentist may have to perform hygiene duties independently on an as needed basis.
  • Expected to treat other patients that are on the clinic’s schedule in addition to treating assigned patients.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an ADA-accredited dental school.
  • Possession of a valid DDS or DMD license to practice dentistry in the State of California.
  • Active California Dental License in good standing.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Active DEA registration.
  • One to two years of experience in general dentistry.
  • Completion of a GPR or AEGD program is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a community health or public health dental setting is highly desirable.
  • Experience providing dental care to pediatric patients is preferred.
  • Experience in oral surgery and endodontics is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in a bi-cultural or multicultural dental clinic environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is a plus.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends as necessary in either San Rafael and/or Novato clinics.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills to maintain and establish good relationships withdental teamand patients.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • May be required to occasionally lift at least 20 - 25lbs.
  • Prolonged standing, walking and working on a computer.
