Job summary

Damar Services in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Dentist to provide comprehensive dental care within an integrated healthcare team. You will deliver preventive, restorative, and surgical services and work closely with medical and behavioral health colleagues to expand access to high-quality oral care.

You will lead clinical care, supervise the Dental Hygienist, and help shape dental workflows and standards while supporting quality improvement and patient safety across the program.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited program.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in Indiana.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
  • Pre-employment drug screen and physical required.
  • Successful background screening per Damar policy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive preventive, restorative, and surgical dental care.
  • Perform fillings, crowns, bridges, implants, dentures, root canals, extractions, and jaw surgery.
  • Assess oral health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and dental imaging.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on treatments, preventive care, and oral health.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide follow-up and referrals.
  • Deliver patient-centered care to individuals with diverse medical and behavioral needs.
  • Supervise and provide clinical oversight to the Dental Hygienist.
  • Collaborate with medical and behavioral health professionals for coordinated care.
  • Help develop and grow dental services, including workflows and standards.
  • Support quality improvement focusing on clinical quality and patient experience.

Damar Services is looking for a Dentist to help build and grow our dental services while providing high-quality, patient-centered care as part of an integrated healthcare team. Schedule

Monday-Friday daytime schedule with no weekends and no on-call Monday-Wednesday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; Thursday, 8:00 AM-6:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive preventive, restorative, and surgical dental care
  • Perform procedures including fillings, crowns, bridges, implants, dentures, root canal treatment, tooth extractions, and corrective jaw surgery
  • Assess patients’ oral health needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic testing and dental imaging
  • Educate patients and caregivers on recommended treatment, preventive care, and ongoing oral health needs
  • Respond to dental emergencies and provide appropriate treatment, follow-up, and referrals
  • Provide individualized, patient-centered dental care to individuals with diverse medical, behavioral, developmental, and communication needs
  • Supervise and provide clinical oversight to the Dental Hygienist
  • Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, nursing, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Help develop and grow Damar’s dental services, including clinical workflows, protocols, and standards of care
  • Support quality improvement efforts focused on clinical quality, patient safety, access to care, and the overall patient experience
Qualifications and Skills
  • Required:
    • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental education program
    • Current, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Indiana
    • Current DEA registration
    • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
    • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical
    • Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
  • Preferred:
    • Previous professional dental experience is preferred but not required
    • Experience in a community health, FQHC, integrated healthcare, or similar setting
    • Experience providing care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or other complex healthcare needs
    • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
