Job summary

Northeast Valley Health Corporation seeks a patient-centered Dentist to provide comprehensive dental care for adults and children, including cleanings, fillings, extractions, scaling, and root canal treatments as needed.

The Dentist will follow clinical guidelines, exercise sound judgment, and refer complex cases when appropriate, contributing to a welcoming community clinic.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an ADA-approved dental school.
• Current California Dental License and a valid DEA number.
• At least one year of general dentistry experience in a community clinic.
• Preferably bilingual English/Spanish.
• Ability to identify age-specific care needs across the life span.

Job description

Definition:

The Dentist provides the following dental services for adult and children; cleaning, scaling, extractions, fillings and anterior root canals and other dentistry services according to medical staff practice guidelines. Demonstrates good judgment when a dental problem is beyond the scope of services provided in the clinic.

Reports to:

Dental Director/Chief Medical Officer and Clinic Administrator

Qualifications:

1. Graduation from an American Dental Association (ADA) approved dental school.
2. Current valid California License as a dentist and DEA number.
3. One or more years practice of general dentistry in a community clinic setting.
4. Preferably bilingual English/Spanish.
5. Must demonstrate through written and/or oral testing, the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served and has knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
6. He or she is able to identify and categorize each patient's age specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients.
