Position Summary
The Dentist is responsible for providing general dentistry services, ensuring effective inmate patient care, and achieving desired patient outcomes at the correctional facility, in line with CFG clinical guidelines, community standards, and contractual obligations.

Position Responsibilities
- Performs and documents dental assessments and evaluations per NCCHC, NJ 10-A, ACA, and PBNDS standards.
- Assesses and diagnoses dental conditions, evaluates treatment options, and educates patients.
- Performs and interprets radiographic exams.
- Records all dental care information accurately and timely.
- Provides emergency dental treatments within scope.
- Refers treatments beyond the facility's capabilities.
- Maintains daily patient visit logbook.
- Provides professional consultation to the health team.
- Follows infection control guidelines and legal standards.
- Prescribes medications under CFG formulary guidelines.
- Adheres to universal precautions and infection control policies.
- Participates in program development and maintains good relations with other health disciplines.
- Ensures security of dental office equipment and supplies.
- Maintains a professional and ethical environment for inmate patients.
- Follows security regulations of the institution.
- Maintains membership in ACHSA.
Qualifications
Position Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited dental school with DDS or DMD degree.
- Completion of a US-based residency program.
- Current, unrestricted dental license in the state of practice.
Work Experience
- Previous clinical experience demonstrating knowledge of diagnosis, assessment, and treatment planning.
