Job summary

Santa Maria Pediatric Dental Group is seeking a Dental Treatment Coordinator to educate patients and parents about proposed treatments, collect co-pays, and manage patient files using our dental software to upload treatment plans and financial agreements.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in a dental office, strong communication and customer service skills, and experience with dental practice management software. This is a full-time, weekday position with standard hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year in a dental office.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Experience with dental practice management software.
• Knowledge of dental procedures and insurance billing codes.
• Team player attitude.
• Ability to work full-time Monday–Friday, typically from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Responsibilities

Overview

We are looking for a Dental Treatment Coordinator to educate patients and parents about dental treatment, calculate and collect treatment co-payments, and manage patient files using dental practice management software to upload completed treatment plans, financial agreements, and procedure protocols into electronic records.

Dental Treatment Coordinator Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of insurance benefits and financial agreements
• Prepare, present, and thoroughly explain treatment plans
• Schedule patients based on treatment plans
• Collect patient co-payments
• Answer phones
• Complete pre-authorizations and referrals as appropriate for patients; gather necessary information for claim processing
• Ensure patients have completed the appropriate financial consent forms, agreements, and protocols per their treatment plan
• Maintain patient records with strong attention to detail and adherence to HIPAA Privacy Practices
• Ensure all medical clearances are completed adequately and in a timely manner
• Manage multiple deadlines and task assignments efficiently

Dental Treatment Coordinator Qualifications

• High school degree, GED, or related
