Casey Dental in Pittston, PA is seeking a Surgical Dental Assistant to join a patient-centered team. The role includes assisting the oral surgeon during extractions, implants, bone grafts, and IV sedation cases while maintaining a sterile environment and accurate documentation in the dental software system.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and completed a dental or surgical assisting program.
• CPR/BLS certification is required.
• State-specific dental/surgical assistant certification as applicable is preferred.
• Experience with OSHA, CDC infection control protocols is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures such as extractions, implants, bone grafts, and IV sedation cases.
• Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment, including instruments and operatory setup.
• Monitor patient vitals and comfort levels before, during, and after procedures.
• Document surgical procedures accurately in the dental software system.
• Manage surgical inventory and order materials as needed.
• Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Support sedation and recovery protocols in accordance with practice and regulatory standards.
• Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards at all times.
• Collaborate closely with the front office, sterilization, and clinical teams to ensure efficiency.
