Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a Full-time Dental Supervisor for our Battle Ground Dental Clinic to coordinate patient flow and supervise dental staff. Knowledge of sterilization methods, OSHA regulations, dental insurance programs, and procedure codes is required.

Requirements include WA Dental Assistant registration, basic courses in dental assisting and office management, and a minimum of three years in a dental office.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Dental Assistant registration is required.
• Completed basic courses in dental assisting and office management.
• Minimum of three years in a dental office may be considered in lieu of education.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within one month.
• Strong English communication; reading dental materials.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Russian preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient scheduling to maintain efficient patient flow and triage patients.
• Maintain sterilization standards and OSHA compliance; process instruments in the Sterilization Room.
• Supervise dental assistants and receptionists; guide providers and participate in training.
• Use dental insurance programs and procedure codes to correct encounter forms; operate computer systems.
• Manage provider production to meet goals; maintain daily production reports; build community relationships.

Hourly Rate: $26.63 - $28.38 (depending on experience)

Position Summary

Full‑time Dental Supervisor position available for our Battle Ground Dental Clinic. The Dental Supervisor will coordinate patient flow and supervise the Dental Assistants and Dental Receptionists, including patient scheduling and triage. Knowledgeable of sterilization methods, OSHA regulations, dental insurance programs, and procedure codes is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate patient scheduling to maintain an efficient and productive patient flow; triage patients, coordinate appointments, and communicate accurately with patients.
• Maintain sterilization standards and OSHA compliance; process instruments in the Sterilization Room.
• Supervise dental assistants and receptionists, guide dental providers, provide verbal counseling, and administer disciplinary actions as required; participate in training new employees and dental trainees.
• Use dental insurance programs and procedure codes to correct encounter forms and answer cost questions; operate Misys or other computer systems; complete Quality Improvement assignments following the QI Department Calendar (e.g., chart audits, patient surveys, safety activities).
• Manage provider production to meet goal expectations, maintain daily production reports, and build community relationships to support the clinic (e.g., HeadStart, ECAP programs); communicate effectively with the Regional Coordinator and Dental Director on any issues.

Education and/or Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant registration from Washington State required.
• Completed basic courses in dental assisting and office management at an academic institution or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years working experience in a dental office may be considered in lieu of education.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within one month of employment.
• Strong communication skills in English; ability to read and interpret common written materials about dentistry.
• Experience with EPIC desirable.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Russian preferred but not required.
