Job summary

Valleygate Surgery Center Midland is seeking a full-time sterilization technician to support dental teams by decontaminating, packing, sterilizing, and distributing instrument packs. The role requires adherence to OSHA standards and infection control practices in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, and Dental Assistant or sterile processing certification, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Dental Assistant Certification or sterile processing certification is required.
• Infection control knowledge and OSHA alignment is expected.
• BLS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, cleans, organizes, and closes the sterilization room and lab for daily functions.
• Maintains equipment, instruments, handpieces, burs and armamentarium by proper care, cleaning, and sterilization.
• Prepares all instrument packs, handpieces, burs, etc. and distributes to operatories.
• Operates and maintains sterilizers, keeping records of loads completed and maintenance.
• Monitors biological and chemical wash solution to ensure decontamination quality.
• Maintains inventory of instruments and supplies for operating rooms and turnover.
