General Responsibilities:

The Dental Assistant is responsible for providing hands-on support to the Dentist, completing preparation work to efficiently care for patients and assist during dental procedures.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. X-Ray Certification (or completion within 6 months of hire)
3. BLS Certification (or completion within 6 months of hire)
4. Experience using computers for a variety of tasks
5. Good written and verbal communication skills
6. Consistently professional appearance and attitude
7. Able to provide great patient care

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 1 year experience as a dental assistant
2. Candidates who do not meet all of the preferred qualifications are encouraged to apply

Significant Job Functions:

1. Four handed dentistry
2. Setting up dental procedures
3. Sterilization of dental instruments
4. Taking alginate impressions
5. Pouring models
6. Take digital dental x-rays
7. Document vitals and chief complaints in chart
8. Document treatment plan in chart

Physical Effort/ Environment:

The duties of this position are performed onsite at a Thundermist location. This position requires the use of fingers and hand manipulation using instruments and dental equipment. On feet most of the day.

Work Schedule Demands:

As determined with department hiring needs. Must be available for overtime, including nights and weekends, when necessary.

Communication Skills:

This position requires the ability to verbally communicate with patients.
