Job Requirements
  • Graduate of a formal training program in medical reception, an equivalent program, or a customer service program
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Data Entry test (4000 keystrokes)
  • Dental Terminology Test
  • Two years experience as a medical or dental receptionist, or medical/dental insurance processing
  • Two years experience in a customer service position
  • One year experience using data look-up and data entry functions on PC based computer system
  • One year customer service experience either via telephone or in-person within the last five years
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work under pressure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a dental clinic
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, with adequate speech, vision, hearing, and manual dexterity. Proficiency in English is required; proficiency in other languages may be required.

Position Purpose

The Dental Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and shares responsibility for providing a satisfying experience. This role involves scheduling, patient communication, and handling payments, contributing to the efficient operation of the clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Patient Communication: Interact positively and professionally with patients and contacts, relay messages, and behave according to company standards.
  2. Appointment Scheduling: Use principles and protocols to schedule and maintain efficient provider schedules, confirm appointments, and coordinate referrals.
  3. Patient Records and Charges: Review and update patient records, communicate charges, and collect payments at point of service.
  4. Working with Colleagues: Interact courteously, share ideas, and assist co-workers as needed.
  5. General Accountabilities: Perform duties of other clerical positions, collect data, and prepare reports.
