You will prepare P&L summaries, balance-sheet support, AR aging reports, and production/collection metrics for review by the outside CPA. The role requires 24+ months in dental revenue-cycle accounting, with CDBS/CDC certifications preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Economics, or related field, plus at least 24 months of accounting experience in medical/dental revenue-cycle accounting or related role.
  • CDBS and CDC certifications or equivalent dental billing/coding certifications; preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile accounting records using QuickBooks Online or comparable software; reconcile deposits, insurance payments, patient payments, vendor payments, payroll-related entries, and bank-account activity.
  • Prepare P&L summaries, balance-sheet support, AR aging reports, production and collection reports, payment-posting summaries, and reports for the outside CPA. Review claims, EOBs, payment postings, write-offs, adjustments, denials, appeals, and preauthorization records for accuracy.
  • Monitor outstanding claims, delayed payments, patient balances, insurance receivables, and posting discrepancies.
  • Analyze production, collections, AR trends, and billing workflows; recommend improvements to cash-flow and collections processes.

Job description

  • Maintain and reconcile accounting records using QuickBooks Online or comparable software; reconcile deposits, insurance payments, patient payments, vendor payments, payroll-related entries, and bank-account activity.
  • Prepare profit-and-loss ("P&L") summaries, balance-sheet support, accounts-receivable aging reports, production and collection reports, payment-posting summaries, and reports for the employer's outside CPA. Review claims, explanations of benefits ("EOBs"), payment postings, write-offs, adjustments, denials, appeals, and preauthorization records for accounting and revenue cycle accuracy.
  • Monitor outstanding claims, delayed payments, patient balances, insurance receivables, and payment-posting discrepancies.
  • Analyze production, collections, accounts-receivable trends, and billing workflows, and recommend improvements to cash-flow and collections processes.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or a foreign equivalent degree, in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Economics, Business Administration with an accounting concentration, or a closely related field, plus at least24 months of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, dental revenue-cycle accounting, dental billing/coding, healthcare revenue-cycle financial operations, or a closely related role. The position also requires:

  • Certified Dental Billing Specialist ("CDBS") and Certified Dental Coding Specialist ("CDC") certifications, or equivalent dental billing and dental coding certifications;
  • Experience with accounting, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll-related accounting, vendor-payment tracking, bank reconciliation, financial reporting, dental-insurance claim workflows, insurance-payment posting, denial and appeal workflows, benefits verification, and dental revenue-cycle documentation;
  • Experience using QuickBooks or comparable accounting software;
  • Experience using Dentrix, Curve, or comparable dental practice-management software;
  • Knowledge of dental procedure coding and dental-insurance billing workflows.
