The Institute for Family Health is seeking a Dental Office Assistant to support dentists during clinical procedures and help create a welcoming patient experience in a busy Bronx practice.

Responsibilities include room preparation, instrument processing, record keeping, and assisting with radiographs under OSHA and CDC infection control guidelines. This is an 1199 union position with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for career growth.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting preferred; family practice setting a plus.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills; strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilidades

• Checks in patients and notifies providers that patient is present.
• Maintain dental laboratory, process instruments, and monitor lab cases.
• Follows weekly and monthly maintenance procedures for all sterilization and radiograph developing equipment.
• Follows OSHA standards of infection control under CDC guidelines endorsed by department, organization, and Infection Control Officer.
• Takes and process radiographs as directed by the dentist/ hygienist.
• Place treatment plans, periodontal charts, informed consent forms, referral forms, and contracts for complex treatment into the dental subdivision of the comprehensive medical records.
