The Institute for Family Health is seeking a Dental Office Assistant in an on-site role in Bronx, NY. You will assist dentists during clinical procedures, prepare exam rooms, and keep patient charts accurate and up to date, ensuring a welcoming experience for every patient.

Responsibilities include handling patient check-ins, maintaining the dental lab and sterilization equipment, and processing radiographs under the supervision of dental staff. Training and union benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting preferred, family practice setting a plus.
• Demonstrated communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated competence in 4-handed dentistry and ability to work independently.

Responsabilités

• Check in patients and notify providers that patient is present.
• Maintain dental laboratory, process instruments, and monitor lab cases (check-in of lab cases, pouring impressions, storing cases, sending out lab cases, completing lab log sheets, etc.).
• Follow weekly and monthly maintenance procedures for all sterilization and radiograph developing equipment.
• Follow OSHA standards of infection control under CDC guidelines endorsed by department, organization, and Infection Control Officer.
• Take and process radiographs as directed by the dentist/hygienist.
• Place treatment plans, periodontal charts, informed consent forms, referral forms, and contracts for complex treatment into the dental subdivision of the comprehensive medical records.
