Job summary

Affordable Care, LLC seeks a Lab Manager to direct on-site training for dental technicians and oversee the implementation of new products and technologies. The role requires close collaboration with the Chief Clinical Officer and regional leadership to ensure high standards in patient care.

The incumbent will lead by example in denture fabrication, lab operations, and compliance with OSHA protocols while maintaining effective communication across teams and with management.

Qualifications

• Ten years of hands-on technical experience with at least two years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Significant experience fabricating dentures from start to finish, including implants where applicable.
• Strong leadership, communication, and training abilities within a lab setting.
• Knowledge of OSHA protocols and dental lab procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site technical training and development of all laboratory technicians.
• Implement new products and technologies within the lab setting.
• Coordinate with regional manager of laboratory excellence and ACI leadership.
• Oversee denture fabrication lifecycle from start to finish, including waxing, carving, finishing, and repairs.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

The Manager's responsibilities will include both technical and supervisory duties. Responsible for the on-site technical training and development of all laboratory technicians at the practice as well as the implementation of new products and technologies. The Manager will be expected to communicate regularly with the regional manager of laboratory excellence and other relevant ACI management and take an active role within the ACI Laboratory Network. While work methods follow established procedures and practices, candidates are expected to consult with the Chief Clinical Officer and team using a high degree of judgment on a patient-by-patient basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Expert in all aspects of denture fabrication, including, but not limited to, setting teeth, denture wax-up, including festooning and carving of teeth, rough and fine finishing and repairs, pouring and trimming denture models

• A strong work ethic, proven leadership ability, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills

• Expected to understand OSHA protocol

• Willingness to cross-train lab team members in all areas of the lab

• Other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma

• Strong interpersonal, leadership, management, and relationship-building skills

• Superior written and verbal communication skills

• Familiarity with dental office procedures and terminology preferred

• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new programs

• Availability to work full time, Monday through Friday, during the business hours of the lab and practice

• Significant employment experience fabricating dentures from start to finish.

• Denture and implant experience preferred, but implant experience is not a requirement.

• Same-day denture experience is a bonus, but not required.

• A minimum of ten years of hands-on technical experience with at least two years serving in a technical supervision or management capacity.

• Proficient in full-arch hybrid restorations, complete dentures, overdentures and implant based restorative techniques and have strong knowledge of dental science and anatomy and esthetics.
