Dental Laboratory Manager

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Dental Laboratory Manager to lead the technical and supervisory operations of an on-site dental laboratory. This role is ideal for an experienced denture technician, dental laboratory technician, or prosthetic technician with strong leadership skills and extensive hands-on experience in removable and implant-supported dental prosthetics.

The Dental Laboratory Manager is responsible for the technical training and development of laboratory technicians, quality and production standards, implementation of new dental products and technologies, and day-to-day laboratory leadership. The Manager will work closely with the Regional Manager of Laboratory Excellence, ACI management, and the ACI Laboratory Network to support continuous improvement and technician development.

The Manager will follow established laboratory procedures and best practices while applying a high degree of professional judgment when evaluating and completing patient-specific dental prosthetic cases. The position requires collaboration with the Chief Clinical Officer and laboratory team to help ensure high-quality, functional, and esthetic dental restorations.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of complete denture fabrication and dental laboratory procedures, including:
  • Setting denture teeth
  • Complete denture wax-up
  • Denture festooning
  • Carving of teeth
  • Rough and fine finishing
  • Denture repairs and adjustments
  • Pouring and trimming denture models
• Fabricate dentures and dental prosthetics accurately and efficiently from start to finish.
• Provide hands-on technical training, coaching, and development for dental laboratory technicians.
• Cross-train laboratory team members in all areas of dental laboratory production.
• Support the implementation of new dental laboratory products, technologies, techniques, and processes.
• Maintain a strong understanding of OSHA protocols, laboratory safety standards, and infection-control practices.
• Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-performing dental laboratory environment.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, professional attitude, proven leadership ability, and excellent communication skills.
• Work collaboratively with laboratory leadership and clinical team members to support patient-specific restorative needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

General Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Dental Laboratory & Technical Expertise

• Significant hands-on experience fabricating dentures and dental prosthetics from start to finish.
• Expert knowledge of complete dentures, overdentures, full-arch hybrid restorations, and implant-based restorative techniques.
• Strong understanding of dental science, oral anatomy, occlusion, function, and dental esthetics.
• Denture and implant experience preferred; implant experience is not required.
• Same-day denture experience is a plus, but not required.
• Strong knowledge of dental laboratory procedures, terminology, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to evaluate cases and apply sound technical judgment to patient-specific restorative needs.

Leadership & Management Skills

• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on technical dental laboratory experience, including at least 2 years in a technical supervision or laboratory management capacity.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, management, and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to train, coach, mentor, and develop dental laboratory technicians.
• Ability to lead a team while maintaining high standards for quality, productivity, accuracy, and patient care.

Schedule & Employment Requirements

• Full-Time Position
• Monday through Friday
• Work during the regular business hours of the dental laboratory and practice.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-focused dental laboratory environment.
