About us: Virginia Family Dentistry has been providing safe, quality dental care to the greater Richmond area for 50 years. We are a private, dentist-owned practice with 16 locations. Although large, each location has its own personality, pace, and style, allowing flexibility to meet your needs.

We are accepting applications from Registered Dental Hygienists (RDH) in Virginia and recent hygiene school graduates awaiting licensure. Please indicate your expected license date. Typical work hours are 8am-5pm.

We are looking for Temporary Hygienists to join various locations in the greater Richmond, Virginia area. Positions are available for full-time, part-time, and temporary roles. Compensation depends on experience.

Clinical Requirements for Dental Hygienist (RDH):

• CPR certified (American Heart Association, Basic Life Support for healthcare providers)
• High skill level with hand instrumentation and ultrasonic inserts
• Experience with digital radiographs and Dentrix Enterprise preferred
• Scaling and Root planing
• Certified to administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia (Virginia Family Dentistry will support certification and ongoing education)

Role and Responsibilities:

• Cleaning teeth: removing plaque, tartar, and stains
• Examining oral health for signs of disease
• Applying sealants and fluorides
• Taking and reviewing x-rays
• Educating patients on oral hygiene
• Documenting care and treatment plans
• Screening patients and recommending care to improve oral health

Our hygienists are held to high standards, managing efficient schedules while providing excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The role emphasizes patient satisfaction and ongoing education, without the need to sell products.
