Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center seeks a Dental Hygienist to support our dental team in New York. Under the supervision of the Dentist, you will perform prophylaxes, capture periapical x‑rays, and document exams in the electronic dental record. You will help manage supplies and educate patients and families, coordinating with front desk on scheduling.

Rotation weekend coverage is required; NYS Licensure and completion of a Dental Hygienist program are required, with prior experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Dental Hygienist program is required.
• New York State licensure as Dental Hygienist is required.
• Prior experience as a Dental Hygienist in a dental setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete Oral Prophylaxes on patients.
• Complete periapical X-rays as needed.
• Documentation of the oral examination in the patient’s electronic dental record.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Educate patients and families.
• Coordinate scheduling with front desk staff.
