Job summary

Montefiore is seeking a Dental Hygienist to administer oral prophylaxes for new patients and provide semiannual care for continuing patients. The hygienist will perform periapical x-rays and, in the supervisor’s absence, help with scheduling based on patient flow.

A NYS licensure for Dental Hygienist and completion of a Dental Hygienist program are required. Ability to rotate weekend coverage as needed is a must, and prior experience in a dental setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Dental Hygienist program required.
• NYS Licensure for Dental Hygienist.
• Prior experience as a Dental Hygienist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete periapical x-rays as needed.
• Documentation of the oral examination in the patient's electronic dental record.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.

Under supervision of the Dentist, theDental Hygienist administers oral prophylaxes of all new patients and service semiannually on continuing patients. The hygienist is responsible for periapical x-rays on these patients. In the absence of the supervisor or director, performs scheduling and work assignments based upon patient flow needs.

Ability to provide rotating weekend coverage based on operational need is a MUST.
