Job summary

Montefiore is seeking a Dental Hygienist to administer oral prophylaxes and perform periapical X-rays for new and continuing patients. The hygienist will document findings in the electronic dental record and help manage patient flow with scheduling and front desk staff.

The role requires a Dental Hygienist program completion and NYS licensure, with a preference for prior dental-setting experience. Weekend rotation may be required to meet clinical needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Dental Hygienist program required.
• New York State Licensure for Dental Hygienist required.
• Prior experience as a Dental Hygienist in a dental setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Under supervision of the Dentist, theDental Hygienistadministers oral prophylaxes of all new patients and service semiannually on continuing patients. The hygienist is responsible for periapical x-rays on these patients. In the absence of the supervisor or director, performs scheduling and work assignments based upon patient flow needs.

Ability to provide rotating weekend coverage based on operational need is a MUST.
