Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a licensed Dental Hygienist to join our Pittsburgh area team. You will perform prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and periodontal probing, while educating patients on oral care and adherence to HIPAA and privacy policies.

Responsibilities include pre-procedure assessment, documenting oral hygiene in the chart, and communicating treatment details to patients and dentists. A Pennsylvania license and prior dental hygiene experience are preferred; occasional on-site

Qualifications

• Minimum Current Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene License.
• Preferred 1 year of dental hygienist experience.

Responsibilities

• Call patients to confirm scheduled appointments.
• Evaluate patient, take blood pressure, and review medical history prior to prophylaxis.
• Perform prophylaxis treatments, scaling and root planing, and periodontal probing.
• Document overall oral hygiene in the patient chart for review by the dentist and ensure proper billing procedures.
• Explain procedures to patients/families and provide teaching instructions and/or materials for home care.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
