Qualifications

• Valid dental hygiene license in Vermont
• Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
• Proficiency with Eaglesoft and Dentrix Ascend; experience with Dentrix, Open Dental
• Familiarity with dental assisting techniques

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental hygiene procedures including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients on effective oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
• Take and process dental x-rays with precision
• Assist dentists during procedures by providing instruments and materials efficiently
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using dental software systems (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix Ascend)
• Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and ensure a clean, sterile clinical environment

Requirements

• Software Experience: Dentrix, Open Dental
• Valid dental hygiene license in the state of Vermont
• Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Solid understanding of dental office procedures, HIPAA regulations, and patient confidentiality
• Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and CAD
• Familiarity with dental assisting techniques and procedures
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy relevant to dental care
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
