Position Overview:

Under general supervision, the Dental Hygienist will provide preventive dental care, document treatments, perform radiographs, and educate patients and staff. Responsibilities include ensuring infection control, assessing gum disease, and participating in community health promotion activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Administers preventive dental treatments, including cleanings, scalings, and polishing of teeth.
  • Documents patient treatments and related correspondence in the electronic dental chart.
  • Communicates dental treatment plans and oral hygiene techniques to patients, parents, and clinical staff.
  • Adheres to infection control protocols and sterilizes instruments according to policies.
  • Conducts procedures to identify and document stages of gum disease.
  • Engages in school-based and community events to promote oral health and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Education:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of dental hygiene.
Experience:
  • 0 to 1 year experience in a dental clinical setting as a practicing dental hygienist.
Licensure:
  • Valid Driver’s License (TX upon hire).
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
  • Texas Dental Hygiene License.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with the public and staff.
  • Use of personal mobile device for Multifactor Authentication.

Work Details:
  • Full Time | Regular
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with possible variations.
  • Work in clinical and community-based settings, including mobile dental events.
  • Physical ability required for dental hygiene procedures.
  • Travel to multiple community locations within Harris County.
