Description

Job Summary: Provide dental hygiene and education/prevention services to expand available services for adults and children.

Primary Duties:

1. Provide dental hygiene services with available personnel.
2. Administer and perform dental hygiene procedures including educational and therapeutic preventive services and routine prophylaxis.
3. Consult with the Indian Health Center's dental staff on periodontal disease prevention and treatment.
4. Understand and adhere to Indian Health Services policies and procedures, as well as DHHS standards of conduct.
5. Educate patients and guardians on dental disease, prevention principles, and proper oral health care tailored to age and needs.
6. Provide periodontal services such as root planning, curettage, charting, radiographs, and coronal polishing.
7. Maximize time management to see and treat 6-8 patients daily.
8. Maintain and sharpen instruments, clean and restock supplies, and process radiographs.
9. Assist in oral examinations and with the hygiene recall system as needed.
10. Maintain professionalism during clinic hours.

Education & Certification:

• Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Valid license to practice dental hygiene.
• Background check required.

Security Clearance:

• Public Trust clearance required.
