Qualifications

• Licensed dental hygienist working within licensure requirements.
• Experience in a community health center setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with licensure and established dental hygiene protocols.
• Conduct comprehensive oral assessments, including medical history review, dental and periodontal charting.
• Take and interpret radiographs and intraoral images.
• Perform prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, debridement, fluoride treatments, and sealants.
• Monitor blood pressure and assess overall oral health status at each visit.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, nutrition, and preventive care.
• Document all clinical findings, treatment plans, and patient interactions in the electronic dental record.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
• Support clinic operations, including recall systems, supply management, and operatory organization.
• Assist during peak clinic times and collaborate with dental assistants and providers.
