Dental Hygienist Job Description

As an employee of HealthSource of Ohio, you may apply for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program (LRP). This program offers registered dental hygienists the opportunity to have their student loans repaid while earning a competitive salary, in exchange for providing healthcare in underserved urban, rural, or tribal communities. The program also allows hygienists to apply for NHSC Loan Repayment without tax liability for providing care.

We are seeking a passionate Dental Hygienist committed to delivering quality healthcare. Ideal candidates are friendly, accessible, and credible team players.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient intake and prepare for exams, maintaining organization to facilitate patient flow. Prepare the dental operatory for procedures.
• Perform adult and pediatric prophylaxis.
• Take patient vital signs and radiographs, including panorex, full mouth series, bitewings, periapical, or occlusal radiographs.
• Conduct preliminary exams for dental decay, chart DMF teeth, and assess oral health instructions (OHI).
• Complete root planning and scaling, topical fluoride application, sealants, and dental recall procedures for all ages.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ADA-accredited dental hygiene school and licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist by the Ohio Board of Dental Examiners.
• 1-2 years of dental experience preferred.
