Base pay range

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday - Wednesday (8am - 4:30pm), Thursday (8am - 6:30pm), Friday (8am - 2pm)

Compensation: Competitive salary + comprehensive benefits

Reports To: Chief Dental Director

Our dental team is on the front lines of delivering essential oral health services to underserved communities, and we are looking for a passionate Dental Hygienist to help us make a difference—one smile at a time.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide high-quality dental hygiene within the scope of service consistent with accepted standards of care.
  • Evaluate patients and implement treatment regimens under the supervision of the Dentist.
  • Provide complete documentation of all findings, treatments, and outcomes.
  • Initiate oral health education and prevention activities.
  • Review and interpret patient dental records.
  • Work cooperatively with other Dental Program staff.
  • Help ensure the smooth, efficient running of the Dental Program.
  • Participate in ongoing evaluation of Dental Program operations to support high-quality, financially sustainable services.
Performance expectations:
  • Assess dental conditions and risks, conduct patient screening, take vital signs as required.
  • Deliver direct patient care, including cleaning, polishing, x-rays, sealants, fluorides, and varnishes.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, perform patient education, and discharge planning under supervision.
  • Assist the dentist during procedures and perform emergency measures when needed.
  • Document dental histories, lab procedures, and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of dental equipment and operatories.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement activities.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Dental Hygienist in Ohio
  • CPR certification
  • Maintain licensure through continued education (CEUs)
Experience:
  • Ability to analyze medical records and formulate treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of regulations and guidelines for dental outpatient services.
  • Ability to perform a full range of dental hygienist procedures and manage emergency situations.
  • Strong communication skills for technical and patient education purposes.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Team player with guidance and supervision skills.
  • Participates in staff meetings and values performance excellence.
  • Adheres to dress code and confidentiality standards.
  • Handles high-pressure situations professionally.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
