Job summary

San Joaquin Valley College Inc. seeks a Program Director to oversee academic integrity and the operational success of their program(s). You will manage curriculum development, faculty performance, student outcomes, and accreditation compliance, while contributing to retention and program improvement.

You may teach courses and coordinate resources, externships, and partnerships to ensure high-quality education and ongoing program advancement based on assessment data.

Qualifications

• Must meet or exceed all academic and professional qualifications for the program as per accreditation standards.
• RDH or dental licensure as required.
• Experience in higher education or academic program management preferred.
• Two thousand hours of direct patient care.
• Ability to maintain necessary certifications and licensure for the courses they oversee.

Responsibilities

• Ensure faculty qualifications, licensure, and work experience meet program standards.
• Assist in faculty recruitment, selection, onboarding, and ongoing professional development.
• Develop academic schedules, conduct faculty evaluations, and perform classroom observations.
• Coordinate faculty activities and ensure adherence to curriculum standards and best practices.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate faculty to ensure quality instructional delivery.
• Mentor faculty to improve teaching techniques and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and college policies.
• Develop retention strategies to support student success and monitor progress.
• Oversee externships and clinical site placements to meet program requirements.
• Maintain program equipment, supplies, textbooks, and materials.
• Organize advisory committee and faculty meetings, and curriculum reviews.
• Prepare and submit accreditation documentation accurately and timely.
• Lead program-level faculty training and resource provision.
• Participate in college governance and professional development activities.
• Teach assigned courses and assess student learning outcomes.
• Provide student support, tutoring, and attendance/academic concern communications.
