About the Role Our busy and growing dental practice is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Hygiene Coordinator to join our front desk team. In this role, you will play a key part in patient retention by managing hygiene schedules, handling outbound reactivation calls, and ensuring optimal provider utilization for checkups, routine hygiene care, and periodontal services.
Pay Rate: $22.00 – $27.00 / hour

Schedule:
Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Manage hygiene schedules to achieve daily utilization goals through efficient appointment coordination.
Execute outbound call lists to contact due and overdue hygiene/perio patients and re-engage patients who have fallen out of care.
Handle incoming calls, schedule routine exams and hygiene appointments, and promptly follow up on missed appointments.
Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries, gathering accurate demographics, and updating financial information.
Analyze operational metrics and schedule reports to track utilization and optimize open appointment slots.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, patient confidentiality, and safety guidelines.
Complete full outreach on all assigned prophy and periodontal recall lists.
Maintain a patient retention rate of 80% or higher.
Keep hygiene appointment cancellation rates below 15%.
Achieve 90%–100% hygiene schedule capacity.
2+ years of experience in the dental field.
Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency and essential arithmetic skills.
Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift/move up to 10 pounds.
Working knowledge of dental terminology, hygiene procedures, and periodontal care.
Experience with dental practice management software, preferably Open Dental.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
