Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate in Applied Science Degree with a major in Dental Hygiene.
• Current Illinois Dental Hygiene license or Dental Hygiene license in good standing.
• Must have at least 1 year of clinical experience.
• Knowledge of current clinical treatment standards.
• Competence in patient-centered dental hygiene care.

Responsibilities

• Teach clinical courses for the Associate in Applied Science Dental Hygiene degree program.
• Supervise students in clinics and ensure adherence to course outlines and manuals.
• Attend calibration meetings and follow prescribed clinical teaching methods and rubrics.
• Arrive early to clinics and assist students in developing clinical skills while evaluating performance.
• Guide students in meeting their needs and refer to college services when necessary.
• Observe and enforce College regulations and report potential issues to administration in writing.
• Record attendance and grades as required by the department.
• Assist in the student reception area as needed.
• Keep track of supplies and notify the director.
• Maintain professional conduct and communicate absences in advance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
