Job summary

Lane & Associates Family Dentistry is hiring a Hygiene Assistant in Garner to support hygienists with patient-related clerical duties and clinical tasks. You will maintain charts, expose digital radiographs, reinforce treatment plans, and help manage the recall system.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, NC X-ray certification, and DAI certification. You should be able to lift 15–20 lbs and work on site with a professional demeanor and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid NC X-ray Certification is required.
• DAI Certification is required.
• Ability to lift 15–20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure treatment rooms are stocked, disinfected, and prepared for each appointment.
• Greet patients and introduce the Hygiene Assistant role.
• Update medical history and take blood pressure as needed.
• Chart and document procedures and note next treatments.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to keep rooms and lab clean and organized.
• Document patient conditions, history, procedures, and comments.
• Expose digital radiographs.
• Reinforce hygienist recommendations and home care instructions.
• Assist with managing the office recall system.
• Maintain inventory and sterilize instruments in hygiene areas.
• Participate in shared maintenance duties and routine tasks.
• Assist with monitoring schedule and confirming appointments.
