Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience.
• California Code of Regulations Title 16, Section 1105.1 requires a minimum baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
• Current California license as a dentist, dental hygienist, or dental hygienist in alternative practice; or special permit with no disciplinary actions.
• Current BLS certification.
• CODA and DHBC requirements for clinical faculty as evidenced by direct patient care experience or dental/dental hygiene teaching experience.
• Graduate of a CODA-accredited dental or dental hygiene program.

Responsibilities

• Providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules.
• Creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning and critical thinking.
• Evaluating progress of students and grading student work.
• Meeting with students outside of class.
• Maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
• Fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
• Maintaining accurate academic records.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
