Job summary

Community Health Connections in Fitchburg, MA is seeking a Patient Accounts/Dental Billing Specialist for our Fitchburg Community Health Center Office. You will handle dental billing, payments, and data entry, ensuring timely processing of charges and claims.

You will use Gateway and NexGen software, work with MassHealth and third‑party billing, and provide guidance to patients through the insurance process, supporting timely and accurate collections.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year dental billing or dental accounts receivable experience.
• Experience with MS Office and practice management software.
• Familiarity with third-party billing and collections.

Responsibilities

• Process dental charges within 48 hours of every visit, submitting claims electronically and on paper daily.
• Post payments and adjustments accurately to patient accounts per contracts.
• Process EOBs and resubmit denied claims; follow up electronically.
• Send weekly patient statements and follow up on past due accounts by calls.
• Reconcile co-pay collections with deposits.
• Assist patients with insurance by using Gateway software.
• Utilize NexGen and other dental/medical software for billing and reporting.
• Provide information to patients to help access care.
• Review self-pay lists and re-verify insurance to ensure timely billing.
• Perform other duties as needed consistent with CHC mission.
