Job summary

Concorde Career Colleges seeks an experienced Program Director for Dental Assistant on our Houston campus. You will lead the program’s academic and clinical training, mentor faculty, teach students, and build partnerships for externships.

You’ll guide quality, outcomes, and compliance to prepare students for licensure and careers in dental assisting. The role requires a minimum of three years of dental assisting instruction experience, a relevant credential, and a drive to shape a new campus

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and a certificate from an accredited postsecondary institution in a relevant subject area.
• At least three years of practical work experience in dental assisting and direct, specialized knowledge in instruction.
• Meet the applicable minimum qualification matrix for program director experience in the state where instruction occurs.
• Associate’s degree in dental assisting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and long-term planning; implement, monitor, and uphold department policies and procedures.
• Review and ensure accurate scheduling of courses, students, and faculty.
• Participate in budget planning, oversee expenditures, and recommend equipment, lab improvements, and supply needs.
• Participate in required student, campus, and community activities.
• Maintain compliance with accrediting bodies and required reports.
• Promote safety and compliance in labs and clinical settings; verify equipment works and consumables are adequate.
• Support curriculum development and align content with industry standards.
• Monitor faculty instruction for engaging learning and assess retention and outcomes.
• Train and develop faculty; document ongoing professional development.
• Advise and mentor students, support licensing exam preparation, and assist in success plans to reduce attrition.
• Build externship capacity and develop partnerships with clinical affiliates and community organizations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
