Job summary

Elgin Community College seeks a Part-Time Adjunct Dental Assistant instructor to provide instruction aligned with the College’s goals and evaluate student progress toward educational goals. The adjunct will deliver classes and labs, prepare lessons, and maintain student records.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree (or completion within three years) and be a Certified Dental Assistant, with 2+ years of dental assisting experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or completion of bachelor’s degree within three years of hire.
  • Certified Dental Assistant.
  • 2+ years of dental assisting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned classes and/or labs.
  • Prepare lessons and provide course syllabus with grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavior expectations, course outline and contact information.
  • Verify student enrollment and submit grade sheets.
  • If a lab is involved, prepare labs and enforce lab safety procedures.
  • Keep accurate records of student performance and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain office hours and communicate via voice-mail/e-mail; refer students to support services; accommodate special needs students.
  • Other duties as assigned that pertain to the job description.

Work Schedule:

TBD. Courses are taught in a classroom setting and may include a lab component.

Rate of Pay:

This is a Part-Time Adjunct Faculty position with the following pay rate per contact hour:

Less than MA: $1,069 MA or Above: $1,109

The offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Essential Duties:

Deliver Instruction
