Job summary

Edgewater Family Dental is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. You will engage patients from their first visit, review health histories, and support a range of diagnostic and treatment procedures with modern technology.

Responsibilities include high-quality chairside assistance, operating Dentrix for scheduling, and maintaining a safe, organized treatment room in line with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. This role offers growth in a supportive, patient‑focused practice.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Fast-paced, customer-centric environment experience.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification per state act.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and educate for treatment.
• Review patient health history to provide quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside four-handed assistance to dentists during various procedures.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room with safety protocols per OSHA & CDC recommendations.
• Manage supplies and inventory and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and improve workflow.
