Virginia Family Dentistry in Mechanicsville is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. The role supports doctors, hygienists and staff while prioritizing patient needs. A valid x-ray certification and BLS are required, with a typical schedule Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Qualifications

• 1 year or more of dental experience or completion of a dental assisting program.
• X-ray certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to dentists.
• Take and process dental x-rays.
• Stock, organize, and disinfect operatories.
• Ensure instrument sterilization and infection control.
• Prepare for patient appointments with supplies and implants as needed.
• Input treatment plans and keep patients on schedule.
• Escort patients to the front desk for checkout.
• Maintain a lab tracking system for lab work.
• Order and unpack supplies; assist with scheduling and follow-ups.
• Support hygienists and administrative staff as needed.
