Virginia Family Dentistry in Midlothian is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. The role offers 8 am-5 pm, Monday-Friday, and a full-time, hourly position with competitive pay ranging from $17 to $25 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to the dentists.
• Take x-rays.
• Stock, organize, and disinfect operatories.
• Ensure instrument sterilization and infection control protocol.
• Review the doctor’s schedule daily, prepare for patient appointments with needed supplies and lab work.
• Input treatment plans given by the doctor.
• Keep the schedule on time and communicate with the front desk.
• Escort patients to the front desk for checkout.
• Maintain a lab tracking system for lab work readiness.
• Order and unpack supplies.
• Collaborate with the doctor scheduler on schedules and the unscheduled list.
• Assist hygienists and administrative staff as needed.

Pay range is $17-$25/hour based on experience.

Typical work hours are 8 am-5 pm Monday-Friday.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide chairside assistance to the dentists
• Take x-rays
• Stock, organize, and disinfect operatories
• Ensure instrument sterilization and proper infection control protocol
• Review the doctor’s schedule daily, set up and prepare for patient appointments with needed supplies, lab cases, implants and other necessary items
• Input treatment plan given by the doctor
• Keep the schedule on time and communicate with the front desk
• Escort each patient to the front desk for check out
• Maintain a lab tracking system to ensure all lab work is ready for the patients’ appointment
• Ordering and unpacking supplies
• Collaborate with the doctor scheduler on schedules and maintaining the unscheduled list by following up with the patients and needed treatment
• Help the hygienists and administrative staff as needed
