Job summary

ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers is seeking a Surgical Dental Assistant in Albuquerque, NM to support oral surgeons and prosthodontists during implant procedures. You will help with chairside assistance, anesthesia documentation, and patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant required.
• Valid certifications meeting state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during surgical and implant procedures.
• Maintain organized treatment areas and anticipate clinician needs.
• Assist with anesthesia administration documentation (local, nitrous, IV).
• Ensure patient comfort and educate on pre- and post-operative care.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and trays per infection-control protocols.
• Take dental x-rays and prepare materials for impressions.
• Support scheduling, reception, and inventory as needed.
• Collaborate with surgical and prosthetic teams for seamless care.

What You’ll Do

• Provide chairside assistance to oral surgeons and prosthodontists during surgical and implant procedures


• Anticipate clinician needs and maintain a clear, organized treatment area


• Assist with administration and documentation of local anesthesia, nitrous sedation, and IV sedation procedures


• Ensure patient comfort, monitor well-being, and educate them on pre- and post-operative care


• Prepare, sterilize, and set up instruments and surgical trays, following strict infection control protocols


• Take dental x-rays and prepare materials for impressions, as directed


• Assist with medical clearances and patient record management


• Support office operations by scheduling, greeting patients, and managing supplies when needed


• Collaborate closely with the surgical and prosthetic teams to ensure seamless patient care

Skills And Experience We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant required


• Valid certifications that meet applicable state requirements


• Strong manual dexterity and ability to handle surgical instruments with precision
