Job Summary

The Dental Assistant collaborates with dental providers to ensure the highest quality of patient care. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down treatment rooms and equipment, preparing patients, documenting in the electronic dental record, preparing laboratory cases, adhering to infection prevention practices, and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of tray set-up, sterilization of instruments
  • Passing and receiving instruments
  • Mixing cements, amalgam, and impression materials
  • Oral evacuation and retraction
  • Seating, preparing, and dismissing patients
  • Operatory preparation and clean-up
  • Following Clinic Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens protocols
  • Respectful and professional interaction with patients, families, visitors, and staff
  • All other duties as assigned
