Job summary

Nakoma Dental in Madison, WI is seeking a friendly Dental Assistant to join a small, patient-focused team. You will assist the dentist, prepare rooms, take X-rays, and help maintain a welcoming, efficient clinical flow.

We offer a supportive environment with no evening or weekend hours and flexible full-time or part-time schedules. The ideal candidate has or is pursuing Wisconsin certification, CPR, radiography credentials, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

Dental assisting experience preferred.
Wisconsin certification/licensing required for dental assistants.
CPR, RDA or CDA credentials as applicable in Wisconsin.
Radiography certification preferred or required where required by state law.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures.
Prepare treatment rooms and ensure instruments are ready.
Take and develop dental X-rays as allowed by state rules.
Assist with patient seating, charting, and documentation.
Maintain infection control and sterilize equipment.
Keep operatories clean, organized, and stocked.

Pay

$21 - $24 per hour
Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

Monday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Thursday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Closed 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm for lunch

We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Dental Assistant to join our dental team! We are seeking someone who enjoys working with patients, takes pride in providing excellent care, and thrives in a team-oriented dental office. Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatment
Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments and materials are ready
Take and develop dental X-rays as permitted by state requirements
Assist with patient seating, charting, and treatment documentation
Provide patients with clear and compassionate care before, during, and after treatment
Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection‑control standards
Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked operatories
Assist with laboratory procedures and dental impressions as needed
Take digital scans, photographs, and other diagnostic records when needed
Help with patient flow and communicate effectively with the front office and clinical team
Follow OSHA, CDC, and office infection‑control protocols
Maintain a positive, professional, and welcoming environment for our patients

Qualifications

Dental assisting experience preferred
Dental Assistant certification/credentials as required by the state of Wisconsin
Radiography certification preferred or required as applicable
Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
