Job summary

CommuniCare Health Centers (Texas) seeks a Dental Assistant to provide chair-side support, radiographs, and front-office assistance in a busy dental clinic. The role includes instrument transfer, sterilization, inventory management, and patient interactions.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma, is either an RDA or eligible for RDA licensure within the first year, and has BLS certification. Flexible scheduling may apply as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have current, valid RDA registration from the TSBDE.
• Must be eligible to apply for and receive a current RDA license within the first year of employment.
• Must complete the Continuing Education requirement by TSBDE on renewal of license/Certificate.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association.
• Scheduled hours and/or work locations are subject to change.

Responsibilities

• Provides chair side assistance to dental providers for operative, preventive, periodontal, endodontic, prosthetic, surgical and other procedures.
• Prepares, sterilizes, organizes, and sets up dental equipment and operatories in accordance with protocols.
• Monitors dental inventory, supplies and equipment and assists in ordering when needed.
• Administers dental radiographs per providers' orders and ensures radiation safety.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and compliance with regulations.
• Provides excellent internal/external customer service to assist patients.
• Assists with front office duties including appointment scheduling, outreach/recall, and confirmations.
• Supports dental hygienists by preparing patients and treatment rooms.
• Maintains daily log-books for maintenance procedures and lab slips.
• Performs general cleaning of operatories and disposal of waste to maintain a sanitary environment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
