Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from high school or equivalent; complete dental assistant program.
• Ohio State Dental Radiograph permit or eligibility for permit.
• Minimum of three years experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties delegated under direct supervision of the dentist.
• Seats, drapes and prepares patient for treatment.
• Takes radiographs and maintains current State Board Radiation Permit.
• Ensures instruments are available for each procedure.
• Maintains supplies and submits requisitions.
• Sterilizes instruments and maintains sterilization records.
• Charts dental conditions and medical history updates.
• Records preliminary dental impressions.
• Records patient vital signs on initial and follow-up visits.
• Explains proposed treatment plans to patients.
• Encourages follow-up visits and liaises with patients during the visit.
