Job summary

Cornerstone Care is seeking a full‑time Dental Assistant at Sto-Rox Family Health Center in McKees Rocks, PA. The role requires a graduate degree level education, with a preference for a Dental Assistant diploma.

X‑ray certification is required within six months of employment and the position supports a patient‑centered dental team. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist the dentist, sterilize instruments, expose radiographs, manage supplies, and handle patient communications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Dental Assistant diploma preferred; but will train.
• X-Ray Certification required within the first 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
• Sterilizes and delivers instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
• Selects, mixes, and places materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
• Exposes and develops radiographic studies; pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
• Maintains patient confidence and protecting operations by keeping information confidential.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Adheres to infection‑control policies and protocols.
• Completes preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
• Obtains prior authorizations.
• Scans.
• Handles patient phone calls.
