Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Dental Assistant program completed or currently enrolled.
• Current BCLS, Radiology, and OSHA/HIPAA certifications.
• Proficiency in EDR software: Dentrix, Open Dental, eClinical Works, Dexis.

Responsibilities

• Performs four-handed chair-side assistance under supervision.
• Performs intra-oral and panoramic radiographs.
• Prepares trays and temporaries for bridgework and crowns.
• Maintains sterilization and disinfection of instruments.
• Reviews patient medical histories for the dentist's reference.
• Takes and records blood pressure and vital signs.
• Documents in EMR and handles dental laboratory forms.
• Orders supplies and ensures proper waste disposal.
• Provides pre- and post-operative patient instruction.
