MyOrthodontist in Cary, NC is seeking an upbeat Orthodontic Assistant to support doctors and improve patient smiles. This full-time role involves working Monday through Friday with a bilingual patient base.

You will take records, assist during procedures, educate patients, and ensure HIPAA compliance while maintaining sterile environments and equipment. English/Spanish skills are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ortho assisting experience: 1 year preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Doctor with orthodontic treatment following state regulations.
  • Take complete records: digital scans, x-rays, photos.
  • Educate patients on braces, aligners and appliances.
  • Chart and document notes per company guidelines.
  • Review chart, medical history, treatment plan; flag concerns.
  • Perform chair-side duties with attention to detail.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments; set up trays.
  • Communicate with parents/patients about care and questions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
  • Attend office meetings and morning huddles; continuing education.
  • Take impressions or bite registrations; fabricate Essix retainers and models.
  • Stock drawers; clean and set up/break down chairs daily.
  • Comply with OSHA infection control and safety standards.
  • Additional duties to meet company standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Doctor with orthodontic treatment in accordance with state regulations.
  • Take complete records including, digital scans, diagnostic x-rays and photos
  • Educate patients on oral healthcare of braces, aligners and/or their appliances.
  • Accurately chart and document all notes pertaining to the patient during the exam and treatment set forth by the Company guidelines.
  • Review the patient’s chart, medical history and treatment plan and consent forms prior to treatment, identify any potential concerns for you and the Doctor to consider.
  • Complete chair-side duties efficiently, paying attention to detail.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, set up trays.
  • Communicate with parents/patients at the end of each visit to address concerns and answer treatment questions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance
  • Attend and participate in all office meetings, continuing education events and morning huddles.
  • Take impressions or bite registrations, pour and fabricate Essix retainers, stints and/or study models
  • Stock drawers, clean, set up/break down patient chairs daily.
  • Be compliant with state and federal OSHA laws, infection control, safety standards in the office and operatory.
  • Additional duties will be assigned to achieve the Company standards and goals as efficiently as possible.
